ABOUT SHACKLETON
PERICULUM EXPLORANDUM
Shackleton Theatrics was officially founded in 2024 by its Lead Producer Park Lytle. It focuses on the development and recussitation of works generated by young and unestablished artists in the Los Angeles Area.

Through creative collaboration and methodical strategy, Shackleton Theatrics seeks to bring life to unique productions from its early conversations to its professional debut. Shackleton Theatrics adheres to the motto
Periculum Explorandum (Explore the Dangers.) We seek to never run away from ideas that may appear risky or uprecedented, but rather push to seek answers and solutions to ensure each new adventure will be succesful.

OUR MISSION
Shackleton Theatrics is dedicated to the development and success of new and forgotten works produced at the lower and mid sized scale. It is our goal to produce theater that is impactful, engaging, and accessible to all audiences.
OUR VALUES
Shackleton Theatrics focuses on practicality and collaboration above all else. As we continue to chase the generation of new projects for our industry, we seek to do so with clear and achievable goals that are agreed to by a robust team of artists.
OUR VISION
Shackleton seeks to be a staple of LA Culture in the realm of small scale and affordable theatre. We strive to continue creating low-budget and high-spectacle works that will enthrall and connect with audiences across our city.
IN TRIBUTE TO ERNEST SHACKLETON

Shackleton Theatrics derives its name from famed explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, renowned for his expeditions to the Antarctic, most notably his expedition aboard The Endurance.
Our lead producer, Park Lytle, cites reading about Shackleton's expeditions at an early age as a major influence on his desire to create adventure stories, hoping to capture the awe and inspiration that Shackleton imbued onto him through his daring spirit and indomitable will. With each production, we hope to pay tribute to the real adventurers of the world, and hope to capture their tenacity.
ABOUT PARK LYTLE
Lead Producer of Shackleton Theatrics
Park Lytle is a creative producer and playwright currently based in Los Angeles though originally from Seattle, Washington. Park's passion for theatre is rooted in his early childhood experiences at institutions like Seattle Rep, The 5th Avenue Theatre, and the ACT Theatre. Park began writing plays at the age of thirteen, though none were ever staged, he frequently generated small short films and school projects to hone his writing skills and express his creativity. It was through one of these school projects where Park first created the character Jimmy Jenkenheimer, who would go on to be the flagship character of Shackleton Theatrics.

Park received his Bachelor's in Economics from Fairfield University in 2021, throughout that time he had been a committed actor and theatre artist, but had started to develop a passion for producing. Seeing a unique opportunity to combine his business education and theatre experience, Park enrolled in California Institute of the Arts to pursue an MFA in Creative Producing, which he is expected to earn in May of 2025. While at CalArts, Park began to expand his collaborations with talented artists such as Sam Millette, Kellie Hageman, Morgan McDonald, Anushka Shah, and Hunter Abal. Park continues to grow the network of artists who have collaborated with Shackleton Theatrics, and continues to generate new works from both his own initiatives and the passion of his fellow artists.
